LISA SCOTTOLINE

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lisa Scottoline was taught writing at the University of Pennsylvania by professors such as National Book Award Winner Philip Roth. After graduating cum laude from Penn’s law school, she landed a clerkship for a state appellate judge, but her career as a litigator was cut short with the birth of her daughter. Living on credit cards, she became a stay-at-home, writing mom and published her first book, Everywhere That Mary Went, to critical acclaim. Now 15 novels strong and counting, Scottoline writes a weekly column for the Philadelphia Inquirer and has won many awards, including the Edgar® for Final Appeal. She teaches Justice and Fiction at Penn Law School and appears in TrueTV’s true-crime series, Murder by the Book. She lives in the Philadelphia area.
