Forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan is back on the case in Bones Are Forever, a riveting, emotionally resonant novel from New York Times bestselling author Kathy Reichs.
The heartbreaking discovery of a newborn baby’s body in a bathroom vanity sends Tempe to a seedy apartment in Montréal, the erstwhile home of Amy Roberts. Or at least that’s the latest name they have on file for her; the young woman seems to juggle many identities as well as a most unsavory profession. As more tiny bodies turn up, the suspect flees west to Edmonton, Alberta. While Tempe’s ex, lieutenant-detective Andrew Ryan, remains in Montréal to investigate the elusive mother’s contacts, Tempe heads west, where she teams up with Royal Canadian Mounted Police sergeant Oliver Hasty—with whom she shares a past that she’d rather forget.
The suspect’s trail leads to Yellowknife, a remote mining community in Canada’s Northwest Territories, where Tempe and her Mountie partner learn that the case has ramifications far beyond the tragic decisions of a young mother. Diamonds may be forever, and they may be a girl’s best friend, but in Yellowknife, they may lead to Temperance Brennan’s untimely end.

I have always liked Reich's writing and this one was pretty good, but some of the subject matter was a little hard to take. Mostly because it was extremely sad due to the age of some of the victims... I guess as a medical examiner she must delve into all aspects of death and who it takes....Had a lot of twists and turns and that made it good, I guess.

This book was superb as all her books are. I have read all of her books but this one made you cry for the babies in the story. Well written as usual can't wait till her next one comes out.

Great story line - fast paced and sometimes heartbreaking. It was one of those "can't put down" books. This could be a stand alone story for those who haven't read any books in this series. I just wish it had been longer with more details about Tempe and Ryan as well as some of the other characters.
