I found this to be a difficult read, but forged ahead to find myself involved in the book before the ending. Did not find that it was necessary to know the details of all the different non traditional belief systems, I skimmed those areas and still had a complete idea and story line. Not the best book I've ever read, but don't regret reading it.

There was a lot of detail put into this book but without it you would not be able to understand the differences in the various non-tradition religious beliefs. I found it very interesting. The reader does have to have an open mind for this book.

Disappointing

I have always been a big fan of Kathy Reichts, however getting through this book was torture. I kept reading, hoping it would get better....and was very disappointed that it didn't. I hope this is not the beginning of the end for her. Thank goodness Nora Roberts released a new book this month to counter the mental anguish bestowed by Devil Bones.

Wow, I have to admit I agree with everything that has been said, way too much detail and I a heck of a time keeping the characters straight. I did find the descriptions of the different religions interesting but it was a slow trudge through this book. I still look forward to her next book.
