“Sometimes you get up in the morning and you know it's going to be one of those days. No toothpaste left in the tube, no toilet paper on the cardboard roll, hot water cuts out halfway through your shower, and someone’s left a monkey on your doorstep.”
With a kick-off like that, you know you’re in for a hilarious ride! Stephanie Plum—the smart-mouthed Trenton, New Jersey, bounty hunter—is back, along with her sidekick, Lula, her Grandma, Mazur, and an ever-widening cast of freaks, crooks, deranged felons and lunatics looking for love.
If Stephanie didn’t have bad luck, she’d have no luck at all. She’s having a tough time finding a 21-year-old geek who’s on the lam with a contraption he jacked from a research lab; Susan Stitch, the skip from Fearless Fourteen, has dumped Carl the Monkey on Stephanie’s doorstep and taken off for parts unknown; and at the most inopportune moment, the mysterious Diesel drops in and triggers Stephanie’s wildest adventure yet: a campout in the Pine Barrens with over-the-top spandex queen Lula (picture that!) and maybe even a sighting of the Jersey Devil. So hang on to your lip gloss—Plum Spooky will send chills up your spine and giggles out your esophagus.

Stephanie and Lula make laugh out loud every time I read.

I love these books, they have just the right amount of mystery and comedy combined together. I find Stephanie and Lula to be hilarious on their own, but when you add the other characters to the mix it makes for a great read. Diesel and Wulf are fascinating characters. I can't wait to read more of Janet's books with them.

Another of her great books, they are relaxing to me as they make me laugh and I enjoy the whole story, get to feel like you are one of the family. Keep it up Janet, they are great.

I have read almost all of Evanovich's series and am on Fearless Fourteen. I LOVE her style, the characters, the humor, all of it!!! Grandma Mazur is a hoot and I have officially adopted her as my second grandma! Keep crankin' out the good books!

This was the best "Between the numbers" book I've read! It's hard to keep the laughs coming through such a long list of books and the last couple came up a little short for me. This one had all the "stuff" of the first books! I'm looking forward to more antics from Stephanie and company!
