Lord Peter Wimsey first encountered the stunning Attenbury Emerald in 1921. An engagement gift from a wealthy fiancé to his bride-to-be, the jewel had disappeared. When Wimsey recovered the gem, the case made headlines and launched him onto his detecting career. But his involvement wasn't over yet.
Now it's 1951, and Lord Attenbury’s grandson is seeking his help: Someone else is claiming ownership of the famous jewel. But as Lord Peter and his wife, Harriet Vane, investigate, they uncover a trail of murder and mayhem reaching back 30 years.
Dorothy L. Sayers’ legacy lives again in the hands of Jill Paton Walsh, whose pitch-perfect depiction of the great detectives makes The Attenbury Emeralds a welcome addition to the Sayers canon.

Excellent. Read it through twice; the second time to savor my time with Lord Peter and Harriet Vane. My whimsy took me back to the bookcase to reread Sayers and Walsh again.
