Chihuahua of the Baskervilles? We laughed our tails off when we first saw this title by newcomer Esri Allbritten! And the mystery is just as clever. This first book in a unique new series introduces paranormal investigator Angus MacGregor, sultry photographer Suki Ooota and writer-cum-graphic artist Michael Abernathy—the offbeat staff of Tripping Magazine, a low-budget periodical featuring paranormal destinations.
Owner Len Pendergast has just received a tip, and he’s psyched. Tripping has a lead on a story that just might pull the magazine out of its financial doldrums, and he sends MacGregor and his team to Manitou Springs, Colorado, to investigate.
Charlotte Baskerville, the rich founder of a successful business specializing in clothing for the pampered pooch, claims she was awakened one night by a yodeling yap that sounded like her late Chihuahua, Petey. Looking outside, she was startled to see a strange glow in the yard. Is the apparition really the deceased namesake of Petey's Closet, “Where Dapper Dogs Shop”? Or is someone trying to teach a dead dog new tricks? When death makes another appearance, Angus and company will have to paw through some family skeletons to unearth the truth.

I kind of liked it. Most of the dog series are a little too much "doggy", too little mystery for me. I didn't really warm up to the characters until later in the book, though. If it's going to be a series I'll probably get the next one.

A waste of my time and money. This story rambles and in the end you really havn't got anywhere. I disliked all the characters and never got into it. I did read it all, hoping it would improve. Ha! Don't recommend.

I was so disappointed in this book that i couldn't even finish it; i found none of the promised humor, and not really much of a plot. The characters and their names were totally unreal and we didn't even get to enjoy much of the dog, Petey. The mystery wasn't mysterious! i love dog stories, but this wasn't one!
