I had never heard of these books and am now reading ALL that I can find! They are sweetly written. They don't revolve around the cats so much as Qw- very quirky stories! Great for an in-between read- this book in particular was a good introduction!

I came into these books several years ago, after the writing of many of the initial books. It was wonderful reading these stories that predate Moose County for the background on the characters: Iris, Hixie as well as how Quill obtained Koko and Yum Yum. I enjoy all the series, the odd characters, how Koko interacts -- am a cat person and can relate to some of the funny cat ways. Two of my cats sit like bookends on stereo speakers on opposite sides of the TV. These books are quick reading, which is a bummer because then have to wait for the next "fix." Really get into the characters and feel know them so well, want to hear more about their life, quirks, foibles, triumphs.

I have read many of the reviews of Ms. Braun's books and I finally want to have my say. I know people have a right to their opinions but...they are looking at these books in the wrong light. I too when I started reading them was thinking man, these are boring. I was used to reading Koontz, and Clark, Whitney, Holt. Big time serious mystery writers. But then I read another 'Cat Who..' book and I read it in a different mind set and it was great. Now I cannot stop reading them. I love Qwill, Koko, and Yum Yum. I cannot get enough. I have 3 cats of my own but now I want 2 siamese. The way that she describes them. The way they set like bookends with their tales wrapped around their feet or the look that Koko gives Qwill every now and then. The way Koko talks to Qwill. My cat talks to me. Even down to the way she talks about the cat hair floating in the air in the sunshine or cat hair getting stuck to his moustache. It is so right on. You can tell that she has cats. These books are very light mystery fair and I love them. I really enjoy my reading time. It is pure happiness. The mysteries aren't big but it's the whole thing. The people, the town and life there. It is like for a while I can live there in Pickax. Thank you Ms. Braun. Thankyou, thankyou.

My first Intoduction to this author was "The Cat who saw Red" in an Audio book my Mother had borrowed from the Library. It did and excellent Job keeping my husband and I awake for the long drive home from a campout. Ever since I have been searching for more. I preferrer to read, watch and listen to mysteries movies that leave me guessing, not blood, gore, etc. It is very refreshing. Can't wait to read more.
