These days, everyone in Lake Eden, Minnesota, is buzzing with activity, and Hannah Swensen is no exception. Things are going pretty well for her in the romance department, and her bakery’s heavenly creations are selling almost as fast as she can bake them. Even her good friend Claire is on cloud nine with her new husband, Reverend Bob Knudson.
When Bob’s childhood friend, Matthew Walters, comes to town, it seems like divine intervention. Matthew, like Bob, is a Lutheran minister with a stubborn sweet tooth. Since he’s on sabbatical, Matthew is happy to fill in for Bob while he and Claire take that long-awaited honeymoon. It sounds like the perfect plan—until Hannah finds Matthew in the rectory, facedown in one of Hannah's confections, a single bullet in his head.
In Devil’s Food Cake Murder, Joanne Fluke mixes all the ingredients for a delectable mystery, as Hannah sets out to find Matthew’s killer. It isn't long before she discovers that the good Reverend wasn’t quite the saint he appeared to be. Is his murder tied to the gold coins in the collection plate or a jewel heist in Minneapolis? As Hannah gets cooking, she finds that even a half-baked criminal plot can be oh-so-deadly…. Recipes.

I have read all of these books and tried several recipes. This one is as good as the others and had a great twist. I can't wait to find out what happens with Hannah, Norman, and Mike, so I just ordered the new book!

I enjoy reading all of Joanne Fluke's books.. They keep you in susoense, love the story line between Mike and Norman, hope she ends up with Mike. Have read all her books, when the price is right, can't spend more than ten dollars for a book unless I get free shipping or buy it at Wal=mart or Target, no shipping charges. Can't wait for her next book.

This book was alot different than the others in the series. But I feel this book will allow for a fresh new read. I love these books, it took me about 2 years to finally read these books. Even though I love them and can't wait til the next one, I dld start to feel that they followed the same path, " find body, ask questions, date both guys, solve case ". With the ending of this book now I feel that Hannah will need to look deeper into her own heart to decede which guy she wants or I'm hoping there could be a new man come into play for her [i like her single], plus then there's a whole new set of ways to add to the ending of this book. I read alot of series books and I have not found one set that at some point there is at least one book that disappoints me. So I'll wait til the next one comes out to see if the Hannah series has lost its shine. Give it a read, if for nothing else the ending, " BUT DON"T READ THE ENDING FRIST "
Happy reading!!

Her books are always a fast, fun read, But this one did seem to drag a little. The men in the story were more lame than usual. It did have a cliff hanger ending. Hope the next one is better

As a rule I love the Hannah Swenson books, but perhaps it is time to wind up the series. I am getting bored with the whole Mike/Norman saga. One word for Norman, DNA test.
