Lori Shepherd’s small, sleepy village of Finch is about to experience a “renaissance revival” when King Wilfred’s Faire comes to town. Lori’s been looking for some spice in her life, and the rowdy, mischievous wizards and wenches, magicians and minstrels, joking jesters and battling knights may bring just the excitement she’s been craving.
Except it’s not all revelry in this Renaissance reality play. A sinister figure is stalking the angel-voiced madrigal singer, a jealous rival has sabotaged the Dragon Knight’s weapons and an evil assassin is trying to murder Good King Wilfred. With Aunt Dimity’s otherworldly guidance, Lori races to save her dear village and risks her neck to keep the feudal festivities from ending in tragedy.

I'm a renessaince (even though I can't spell the word right) fair fan so I was going be a little tougher with this book because of that.
It lived up to my expectations in a big way! It's a fun, easy read!!

This book was great just like all the others. Nice to start with the first one in the series so you can read how the twin boys grow up along the way.

I enjoyed this Aunt Dimity book as well all of the others. It's a nice, easy read with characters I enjoy re-visiting. It is also nice to see Lori 'growing-up' - and not chasing every man that comes along!

Dragons come in many different forms, and none take kindly to being attacked. In this British-based mystery, a modern Renaissance Faire has taken up residence in the next-door neighbor's fields and Lori Shepard is fascinated. As someone is threatening the open-hearted king of the Faire, Lori consults with her otherworldly Aunt Dimity in an attempt to find the culprit. Everyone who enjoys escape into a fantasy world embodied by a Faire with its kings and knaves, and knights and dragons, will find pleasure in Lori's sometimes misbegotten attempts to understand what is going on
