I did not like this book as it was to slow and to many people to keep track of. I like her other books but this one did not hold my interest.

Interesting era

I'm glad to see that there will be more of these. This period of history has always interested me. These women seem more liberated than I expected from this time period, but they are fun!

Like history put in story form

I've always enjoyed learning history from the vantage point of a family or community setting. The timing was a little ahead of me, but growing up in Kansas, it seemed very familiar. I do have a question, however. Two remarks; "I don't have a clue" and "Between a rock and a hard place" seem to be more recent than 1930's. Enjoyed the story anyway and look forward to more.

Sorry, but I tried very hard to read this book and ended up just skipping through it as fast as I could. I read a whole lot of cozy mystery series(Rhys Bowen, M.C. Beaton, Kaitlyn Dunnett, Joanne Fluke, and ofcourse Lee Goldberg's Mr Monk), but I simply found this one dull, dull, dull. Will not buy any others by this author.

Perfect For the Older Reader

I bought this book for my 63yr old mother. Although she still likes mysteries, she does not like a lot of sex or foul language to fill the pages, so it is not always to easy to find a book that she can truly enjoy but this one fit the bill. She loved this book, and the characters in it. She says it is one she will keep on the bookshelf because she will definately re-read it.
