Molly Murphy has promised she’ll quit detecting after her wedding to NYPD captain Daniel Sullivan—but that doesn't mean she can’t squeeze in one last case.
A wealthy Chinese immigrant wants her to find his missing bride, and Molly, sure she isn’t getting the whole story, suspects the girl ran off, but where? The only Chinese women in New York at that time are kept under lock and key, or worse. Molly can’t help but wonder if she’s saving the woman from the streets or locking her away for good.
Bless the Bride by Rhys Bowen reveals the dark side of early 20th century New York society, for as Molly scours the streets of Chinatown, she encounters lies, corruption, racism and murder in what may be the most memorable case of her career.

Molly sure can put her foot into trouble very easily. I hope Molly's marriage doesn't put an end to her sleuthing. "Bless the Bride" didn't let me down. The pace was just right. Her handling of people just right (for Molly). Daniel will not have a dull marriage and I look forward to his trying.

The Molly Murphy and Royal Spyness books are not your action packed, over the top, no one can do that, type of read. I enjoy the history, the reality, and the easy even pace these books offer. If a nice kicked back read that deals with reality rather then sensationalism. Take a walk in 1900's New York and solve a murder, or two and laugh a little. Rhys Bowen has done her historical research and it shows. Enjoy

I enjoy this series very much, as well as Royal Spyness. This book was a page turner for me and I enjoyed all the elements, historical, mystery, and the great interplay between characters. Recommend.

I always look forward to the next book in this series, but this one was a real standout. The plot was so smooth and the characters so interesting. If you're not reading this series you are really missing out. Also highly recommend the Royal Spyness books.

A real page turner. This book was much better than it sounded and it moved at a brisk pace, but managed to make its characters complex and real all the same. The plotline was fascinating, being both informative and interesting. As always Rhys Bowen made turn of the century New York come alive. And I always enjoy time spent with Molly and Daniel and friends. Recommend.
