The end of the world didn’t take much. Just 32 minutes, a security breach and a medical experiment gone awry. And seemingly overnight, we were overrun by vampires of our own creation.
So begins Justin Cronin’s The Passage, but even as civilization crumbles into a primal landscape of predators and prey, two people set out in search of sanctuary. Brad Wolgast is an FBI agent haunted by his past deeds. Six-year-old Amy Harper Bellafonte is a refugee from the project that triggered the apocalypse. But she’s no ordinary girl. And for her, escaping the bloody fallout is only the beginning of a much longer odyssey—one that spans miles and decades as it leads her towards the time and place where she must finish what should never have begun.

There are lots of books I want to read and as I get older I'm incredibly picky with my reading time. I follow about 15 authors and usually they keep me pretty well stocked one to the next. I picked up this book in between and decided to give it a go.
I give books an average of 30 pages to get my interest and keep it; if that doesn't happen it's heave ho to the charity bins.
This one had me from the first sentence.
If I could have read it in one sitting I would have, but it's quite long (just the way I like them) and never lost my interest. I knew from about halfway through there would be a sequel and I was so excited that there would be MORE for me in this story. I'm thrilled it will be out in October, so read this now and enjoy. I'll be reading it again, it's worth doing twice.
