Few things frighten us more than the idea of everyday objects transformed into instruments of terrifying possibility—and no novelist taps into this primal fear with the awesome power of Stephen King. In his first stand-alone horror novel since From A Buick 8, King emerges from his self-imposed retirement to bring us a gripping tale that’s already being compared to his magnum opus, The Stand. Forget about roaming charges, hidden fees, and scratchy connections. The apocalypse is here—and it’s coming to you through your cell phone.
Dead ringers
With the arrival of The Pulse—a signal sent through every operating cell phone that turns its user into a mind-controlled, homicidal zombie—the fabric of society comes apart at the seams. Terrorist act? Cyber prank gone bad? Before long, a band of survivors—self-proclaimed “normies”—seek refuge on the grounds of an elite boarding school. Is it a sanctuary, free from cell phone coverage? Or a trap set to draw the last of the normies into a killing field?
Stephen King is back with an ingeniously terrifying wake-up call that puts your wireless network in charge of you.

I was bored on a Sunday afternoon and decided I would sit down to read a book. My best friend gave me this book and I never got around to reading it...well 9hrs later after I read the last sentence, I was in awe and slightly disturbed at the same time. This book grabbed my attention right off the bat and held me tightly til I saw it through to it's end. I seriously oonsidered smashing my cell phone after this book lol. Stephen King IS King!

I love King's books, but haven't read one in awhile. Cell blew me away and reminded me how strange and wonderful his writing can be at the same time. Definitely another winner and I will pass the book onto all those who appreciate the strange, weird but always entertaining Stephen King. P.S. Has anybody thrown their cell phones away yet?? ENJOY - A GREAT READ

This is a great book. Not too long or short, uses the f word a bit too much for me, and the ending was very disappointing, but as others have said, I almost could not put it down. Read it in 2 1/2 days.

Again I find myself coming to comment on a book I particulary enjoyed to some rough comments on the book. I mean honestly who compared CELL to THE STAND?? lol. the stand was like 1500 pgs, an epic novel and this lil 300 and sumthing page book is a short story in comparison. The STAND was what pretty much got the man famous. I mean I am a die Hard Stephen King fan. I've read almost all (cept Dark Tower not my thing) His books, short stories, magazine articles, cartoons, movies eeven that brief online gig with THE PLANT I PAID WHAT was it a dollar a chapter. I mean u got The Stand, TommyKnockers, It , Christine, the one that started it all Carrie , who hasnt heard of Pet Semetary and now u rag cell which is Technically THE MANS First ever ZOMBIE NOVEL, u gotta be kidding me if you think this book wasn't good , ITS GREAT welldone STEPHEN KING. The end coulda been better but overall it had me going for several hours and I was sorry it ended. And Ladies and gentelman thats how I know the book is good.If your familiar (who isn't) with his work you have to read it , if your a once in a while reader , read his earlier stuff and then progress to the new stuff . You think hes gonna pull a 1500 page saga out every book he publishes lol.Give the man a break and some credit for trying something a lil different and adding his trademark stye to it. It was a good story and it was totally different from his usual stuff.
