A blistering heat wave has everyone in Philadelphia trying to stay cool. But things are just starting to heat up for Nora Blackbird. While dating the son of a mobster, Nora is also looking after the children of her sister Libby, who’s recuperating after being struck by a Rolls-Royce driven by a mysterious, seductive man. Her other sister, Emma, is making a family spectacle by bathing in hot cocoa at Philly’s popular Chocolate Festival—a little too soon after the death of her famous football-star husband. Then, Nora’s friend Lexie is accused of murder!
Can Nora’s life get any more complicated? Of course. When her grifter parents reappear in high society with a brand-new scheme—for which Nora is bound to take the heat!

Nancy Martin draws you into the zaniness of the Blackbird family with fun and compassion for Nora (the SANE one!!??)
It is a zoo looking in on this group of "half-bubble off plumb" family members and friends. The escape to this fantasy-land is such a stress reliever!! Can't wait to see what happens to the Blackbirds next.

The Blackbird sisters are a hoot. Nora's natural instincts are always getting them involved in situations more than they should be. Their hilarious family keeps everything lively while the mystery is being solved. I hope the series never ends.

I am new to this author and started with this book. I enjoyed this book so much that I went online and ordered what i could of the series I missed. What can I say murder, love, mistakes and misunderstandings and mystery with humor. I had to read it in a day. Nancy Martin is list of favorite authors.

I love this series but when I read this book I was a little disappointed. It didn't seem to flow very well. I wanted more out of the charachaters. I look forward to the next book, but would like it to flow better.

I was very "into" this book from the beginning. Nora and her sisters are too much fun not to hang out with! And now we've been allowed to meet the infamous parents.
