Night and Day

Sex isn’t illegal in Paradise, Massachusetts, but when certain acts exceed the bonds of decency, it’s up to Police Chief Jesse Stone to step in. For openers, he’s called to the junior high school to check out reports of improper conduct by the school’s principal. Betsy Ingersoll claims she was protecting her students’ modesty when she inspected the girls’ underwear before the school dance. Jesse would like nothing more than to see Ingersoll punished, but her high-powered attorney husband stands in the way.

Then one of the girls confides that her parents have swinging parties, while she and her little brother hide upstairs. Jesse figures an investigation is in order and sends Suitcase Simpson to snoop around.

Meanwhile, the women of Paradise are faced with a threat to their security with the emergence of a troubled voyeur who calls himself “the Night Hawk.” At first, he’s content to peer through windows, but then he starts to force his victims to strip at gunpoint, photographing them at their most vulnerable. And according to the notes he’s sending Jesse, he’s not going to stop there. Jesse senses the cases are connected, but can he catch the Night Hawk before someone gets killed?

I'm sorry but I haven't read this book yet. I have read four of his other books, so I'm sure this will be a good one also.

Another great Jesse Stone
February 02, 2010

I started reading Robert B. Parker's Spencer novels in the early 80's and he quickly became my favorite author. I loved the Spencer novels and was so surprised when Jesse Stone came along and became my 2nd favorite fictional mystery character immediately. The Sunny Randall novels were wonderful also. With Robert B Parker's passing I feel that I have lost many of my close friends such as Hawk, Susan, Sunny, Jesse, Spencer, etc. He was a genius at writing and I would suggest this book and all the others to anyone that wants a fast-paced, fun, page-turner. Condolences to all of his family members.

Not very interesting.......

This was my first Robert B. Parker book I must say I was not impressed! I love the short chapters because I makes for an easy read, but the book was not very interesting. Although I do like the Jesse character. I have another book by him in my library that I have not read yet I am hoping it is much better than this one.
