One of the top writers of mystery’s Golden Age, Ngaio Marsh (1895-1982) won award after award over her 50-year career for her scathingly funny, tightly plotted and charmingly romantic novels. Now, discover or enjoy anew the singular pleasure of three of the Grand Master’s best Roderick Alleyn whodunits in Inspector Alleyn Calls.
In Overture To Death, the fiendishly clever murder of a spiteful gossip sends Inspector Roderick Alleyn after a murderer who may have killed the wrong woman. In Death at the Bar, Alleyn probes a pub full of motives when a seemingly friendly game of darts turns deadly. And in Final Curtain, Alleyn’s wife enlists his aid when her host, the patriarch of the British Barrymores, is found dead after a family fracas.

Marsh is always a winner. I had read a couple of these before but still found them engaging. I love her writing, wish there was more.

I love Ms.Marsh's books and was delighted to find 2 out of these 3 were new to me.
Each story is up to the standard I have come to expect from this author and it was a challenge to find the villain before the end. Please bring us more of these omnibus editions.

I was delighted to see some of Ms. March's books reissued. I've been a fan since I was a teenager and lived in England for several years. Let's hope for more in the future.

When I saw that some of the Inspector Alleyn stories were re-issued I was quick to order this volume. I remembered how much I enjoyed Ms. Marsh's books when I first read them years ago and I was not disappointed when I read the first two stories in this book. I have not gotten to the third story yet because I want to take the time to really savor it. A really satisfying experience for who-done-it fans!

I really enjoyed the stories presented in this book. I have always been intriqued with British novels done in the old english. Keep you thinking until the end
