He knows what he wants. He has devised a list of rules.
Never kill someone who will be missed…
He chooses his victims carefully. All are young, pretty women. Migrant workers. Street walkers. Adventure seekers.
Never tell anyone…
He is smart. Careful. He will not be caught.
Never kill in your own backyard…
He discards the bodies in dark wooded areas around Puget Sound. The women have nothing in common, except the agony of their final moments. And the dying has only just begun.
Like a dark hum in the blood, Gregg Olsen dials up the dread, as the man with the blade contemplates his next move. He knows one of his rules will be broken. And the next victim—victim six—will be the most shocking of all.
Never kill someone in your family…

This was my first book by this author and although it was graphic, it was a great read. He really introduced me to the characters in a way so that I felt like I actually knew them. Some of them I did not want to know. I am reading a second book by this author now and am loving it too. Will continue to follow this author.

This is the first Gregg Olsen mystery I've read and the first book I've thrown out. As a mystery writer he has potential, but in this book his overly graphic descriptions of sexual sadism prior to and during the murders of women is repugnant and disturbing.
This isn't my idea of entertainment nor is it the way I want to get an adrenalin rush while reading a thrills and chills novel. Fortunately, there are hundreds of other mystery authors who don't need to revert to such a base maneuver.

This book was out there but I could not put it down. It was so creepy and the ending sent shivers down your spine. Makes you realize that there is real evil out there and just being in the wrong place at the wrong time can kill you.......wonder if there will be a follow-on.....

Scary in all the right places. I think the ending is a set up for a sequel and I look forward to it.
