Kay Hooper’s Blood Ties heralds the return of the Special Crimes Unit, a team of mavericks with extraordinary abilities led by Noah Bishop, whose stellar reputation for catching dangerous criminals is about to be tested—big time.
A series of exceptionally grisly murders have led Special Agent Hollis Templeton of the SCU to the small Tennessee town of Serenade. Hollis’ dedication to her job is absolute, but with her psychic abilities still evolving, and her thoughts straying to the powerful spark between her and the most intriguing man she’s ever known, is Hollis up to the task at hand? Her uncanny ability to survive even the most deadly attacks may not help against a cunning killer whose intent is to destroy SCU…from within.

I really enjoyed this book. The references to the books other characters were in was good as was the reference in the back. Over the years it's easy to forget who did what when - this book helped bring us a bit more up to date with everyone. It also did a good job of advancing the story and possibly giving us a hint of what's to come - more great things I hope.

Unblieveable in the true sense of the word not easy to follow and too much of "gray place and time" Not an easy read for me but I do prefer story lines I can relate to. Better luck next time Kay.

I think weaving psychic phenomena into a mystery is a great idea but Blood Ties went over the edge of believability. This overcomes the good things I can say about the characters, the complicated story line and the authors ability to pull it all together. The book entered into the realm of silly.

I really enjoy Kay Hooper's books. You got to love a book that can make you feel for the characters. I get knots in my stomach. The last chapter promises more to come
