More than two decades ago, young Frank Mackey and Rosie Daly made a pact to leave Faithful Place in Dublin’s inner city and run away to London. It was supposed to be the start of a new life together…except she never showed.
So begins Faithful Place, the utterly engrossing third novel in Tana French’s Dublin murder squad books. Believing that Rosie stood him up, Frank left home for good. And so, it seemed, did Rosie. Leaving behind an enigmatic note, she was never heard from again…until now. When her suitcase is found in an abandoned house on Faithful Place, Frank, now a detective, returns home, compelled to conduct an off-the-books investigation that quickly becomes far more personal—and disturbing—than he ever bargained for.

You wil feel that Frank Mackie is talking to you as you read this narrative about a dysfunctional tragic Irish family. You will feel a full range of emotions, pity, sorrow, anger and a wee bit of hope. As an Irish American, I even understood that philosophy of whatever goes on in this house stays in this house. I could notput this book down. Hope there is a sequel.

LOVED this book, Tana French is such a wonderful writer, I'm so looking forward to many more books from her. This is her 3rd book, also set in Ireland as the previous 2 books were. To me it's her best one yet -- the characters are SO vivid and real and while you can pretty easily figure out whodunnit, the journey to the finish is so incredibly enjoyable that you don't mind. YAY FOR TANA FRENCH!

This was a novel that stays with you long after you have finished the book. As the story unfolds, the layers are pulled back until you see the truth of what happened and it shocks you to the very core. What a story! So many complexities, so many turns. It makes you think that one action ripples down through the years. Just a fantastic read.
