A fishing cooler found floating in the Gulf of Mexico sets off major alarms in Alex Kava’s new thriller, Damaged, when the contents reveal plastic-wrapped bundles of human body parts. Special Agent Maggie O’Dell is sent to investigate, despite projections of a huge hurricane heading that way. Maggie is used to chaos, and more ensues when it’s revealed the torso is that of a man who disappeared two weeks earlier after another hurricane hit Port St. Lucie…a city on Florida’s Atlantic side. How did the body travel 600 miles so quickly? Given a choice, Maggie would prefer to avoid the dangerous deluge coming her way; but to get this killer, she’ll have to leave the deceptively calm eye of the storm and face both monsters head on.

I really enjoyed this book. I think I have only read one or two of her other books and will look forward to reading more of her novels.

This is like the 4th or 5th Alex Kava novel and I like how she does her research and I enjoy her writings.

No explanation for how things happened, no explanation as to why FBI was down there, no explanation as to how O'Dell got to the boat, characters were almost cartoons, not enough of the rescue person who was more interesting that O'Dell,
and not enough of her, and someone should explain to Kava how to write an ending. I feel completely ripped off. What a waste of money.

What twist? I must have missed that somewhere in the other story written in the book. Ending was..oh wait..there was no ending. It just dropped off. What started as a good storyline went down hill from there. Very rushed writting to complete the last chapter. Would not waste the time or money.

Good premise but spoiled by flat writing and lack of character development. The ending seemed hurried to me and left some loose ends dangling.
