Has librarian Amy Webber’s favorite student gone up in smoke?
Spring has sprung in quaint Taylorsford, VA. As part of the town’s May Day festivities, library director Amy Webber organizes a research project by a local folklore expert. But spring takes on a sudden chill when a university student vanishes during a bonfire.
The police cast a wide net to find the missing woman, but shockingly, Amy’s swoon-worthy neighbor Richard Muir becomes a person of interest. Richard, the student’s dance instructor, doesn’t have an alibi for the night she vanished—or at least not one he’ll divulge, even to Amy.
When the student is discovered lost in the mountains, with no memory of recent events—and a dead body lying nearby—Amy employs her innate curiosity and librarian’s gift for research to find the truth.
